Travis Sinclair is definitely unique
Travis Sinclair is definitely unique. He has released No.1 after No.1 hits, numerous awards including a Golden Guitar for best new talent... all of this being totally independent with no record label behind him. Through hard work, perseverance and good music, Travis has become one of the biggest names in Australian country music... never letting the so-called 'Trends' affect his style.
Since entering the world of country music, Victorian singer/songwriter/truck driver Travis Sinclair has had an amazing few years. Aptly described as the 'quiet achiever of country music', Travis' highly successful debut album "Rhythm of the Highway" earned him an Australian record of ten consecutive Top Ten singles, as well as collecting a host of awards along the way such as 2003 Golden Guitar for Best New Talent.
His duet with Lee Kernaghan "I'm from the Country" spent three weeks in the top spot on the country charts. His 2005 follow-up album "Rush" earned him an APRA nomination two years in a row and many more accolades, making Travis one of Australia's most successful country music artists. He sings about his own experiences, but also of the experience and emotions told, felt and lived by others.
Travis is currently working on a new album, and has just had his latest of songs "Ride Tough" go into an Australian movie called "Shadows of the Past" due for release after Easter, this being produced and made in the area of Warwick, Queensland. Travis' popularity has been growing quietly throughout Australia for the last 5 years and he is now looking to head into the world market.
Don't miss Travis at the Truckies Reunion Concert at the Outback Festival, Thursday 24th. Or on Friday 25th at the Sports Field night concert.
Jahbutu
Alvin Rostant, also known as Jahbutu is from the republic of Trinidad and Tobago in the south Carribean - just 10 kilometres off the south coast of South America and the land of calypso, soca, steel drums and limbo!
He is also the driving force behind the band Jahbutu which began his musical career playing the steel drums with his father's band "Free French Steel Orchestra", at the age of 14. As his career developed he toured the world as a pan player and vocalist, performing throughout the USA, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Pacific Islands and Australia. When Jahbutu bought the rich culture of the Carribean Islands to our shores, he spared nothing - taking it to all our major cities and even outback Australia.
Having earned a reputation as the "Sultan of Soca" and the "King of Calypso", Jahbutu has a talented and professional line-up of musicians in his outfit which features steelpan, guitar, bass, drums, percussions and keyboards.
Jahbutu creates a vibrant, colourful and exciting blend of dance music direct from the streets of carnivale and the West Indies. Featuring traditional and contemporary West Indies music with all the hottest sounds of Soca and Calypso, some funky Ragga Reggae beats and Afro/latin rhythms, Jahbutu creates the most authentic Calypso experience this side of the Carribean. Jahbutu is currently working on material for his next CD to be released soon.

On the Road Again
Willie and Roy The Musical
Fresh... spontaneous humour... great music
"On the Road Again" is a celebration of the music and lives of Willie Nelson and Roy Orbison. Individually, two of the most influential performers of our era. Together in this musical, they are remarkable!
The story begins when during a Willie Nelson concert, Roy Orbison appears for one final performance. Experience the excitement as Willie and Roy share with other and the audience, the highs, lows, laughter and sadness of their lives. Most of all "On the Road Again" is a celebration of the songs and music that have made Willie and Roy true legends.
Mark Shelley and John Robertson both call the Blue Mountains of NSW home. They decided to do a performance together, found they had similar musical tastes, instant harmony rapport and a shared warped sense of humour. Now, nearly 2 decades, and some significant hair loss later (Mark would have you believe its by choice!), they are still enjoying the journey.
Very few duos or groups have the harmony blend that "Shelley and Robertson" possess. It at times surprises even them when they seem to instinctively know where the other one is going... the phrasing, timing and tone is outstanding.
Over the years they have performed in a variety of styles and guises. Mark and John jokingly refer to themselves as the "World Fameless Duo". They have indeed travelled the Country and parts of the World performing and collecting wonderful stories of life on the road. "Shelley and Robertson", put simply, entertain.
They love to communicate, they love to entertain and they love to sing great songs... 'World Fameless'?... perhaps. World Class... definitely!
Appearing on Thrusday 25th at the Truckies Reunion Concert - Outback Festival.
